Absolutely Awe-Inspiring!

The one-day tour to Tikal was perfectly organized. The flight was quick and easy. Walking through the jungle and hearing the howler monkeys roar was incredible before we even saw the first temple. The ruins themselves are breathtakingly huge. Climbing the temples and seeing the other pyramids poking through the endless jungle canopy is a view I will never forget.

💡 Tip: Wear good walking shoes and bring lots of water. The site is massive, and it gets very hot and humid in the jungle.

Don't Miss the Yaxhá Sunset!

We did the overnight Tikal package and added the Yaxhá tour. Best decision ever! Tikal was amazing, but the sunset at Yaxhá was magical. After exploring the impressive ruins with far fewer people, we climbed the main temple. Watching the sun go down over the jungle and the lagoons from above was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. The boat trip to the Topoxte ruins was also really cool.

💡 Tip: Bring bug spray for the Yaxhá sunset tour! The mosquitos come out as the sun goes down, but the view is more than worth it.

A Hidden Gem of Crystal Clear Water!

After seeing Tikal, we did the Crater Azul tour the next day. What a contrast! The boat ride down the Rio La Pasión was beautiful, but the Crater Azul itself is unreal. The water is the clearest and most brilliantly blue I have ever seen. We spent a couple of hours just swimming and snorkeling in this perfect natural spring in the middle of the jungle. A wonderfully refreshing and beautiful day trip.

💡 Tip: A waterproof camera or GoPro is a must for Crater Azul to capture how stunning the water is.
